Lincoln Financial Product Overview: LifeGuarantee SUL (2013)

Overview of LifeGuarantee UL (2013):

  • Lincoln advertised an average range of 0.5% to 2.5% for rate increases to level pay solves. This is roughly accurate, as we saw no changes that extended beyond +/-5%.
  • Decreasing premiums were seen for limited guarantee (A90 & A100) full-pay solves. Some decreases were significant, especially for females (up to 20%). The more significant decreases were seen at the older ages.
  • Changes to short-pay premiums were not mentioned in Lincoln’s pre-launch announcement. The most significant increases were to short-pay scenarios, especially noted at the younger ages (20% – 30% under A50).
  • Targets are middle of the road and saw minor adjustments.

With this release, Lincoln Financial removed their imposed premium limitations. They also extended their premium payments beyond A100 for lifetime solves (premiums previously stopped at A100). The attached standard analysis includes all of the products we benchmark (24 products considered):
